Slash Forced To Ditch Steven Tyler Song

Slash Forced To Ditch Steven Tyler Song

August 16, 2010

Slash was forced to ditch a collaboration with Steven Tyler for his recent solo album following pressure from the Aerosmith frontman’s record label.

The former Guns N’ Roses star released his self-titled solo record this year and it featured numerous guest vocalists including the Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie, Ozzy Osbourne and Motorhead singer Lemmy.

Slash has revealed he also recorded a track with Tyler, but he was forced to drop the song from the album.

He tells Ultimate-Guitar.com, “I worked with Steven for a second, but it was just a huge conflict of interest with Aerosmith. The song hasn’t been used with anybody else, but there was no chance that the record company was gonna allow us to release it, so we had to let it go.”

But the rocker hopes to head back into the studio with Tyler in the future, adding, “I might go back and revisit that with Steven.”
