Slash Premieres “Back From Cali” Video
August 12, 2010
Dan Reilly of Spinner.ca reports: Reading the lyrics for Slash’s ‘Back From Cali,’ the latest single from his self-titled solo album, might give some the sense that the guitarist is yearning to return home. But the video for the track makes one thing clear: Slash is just as much of a road dog as ever.
‘Back From Cali’ features lyrics written by Alter Bridge’s Myles Kennedy, who also became the frontman for Slash’s touring band. The group has been performing in Europe and Asia all summer, mixing in new songs with old favorites from Slash’s Snakepit, Velvet Revolver and, of course, Guns N’ Roses. As the footage, which was shot all across Europe by director Daniel E Catullo III shows, the gigs are intense, sweaty and full of roaring solos — just like a Slash show should be.
As Slash told Spinner in May, “The guys in the band are all phenomenal; I’m lucky to have been able to find them. Myles is phenomenal and sings everything from this record to Guns N’ Roses albums to Velvet Revolver and Snakepit stuff as well, so that’s really cool.” Get a taste of Slash’s live show with the exclusive premiere of the ‘Back From Cali’ video below.
