November 22, 2009
After his departure from Slash Puppet in 1994, award winning Canadian rock vocalist Mif joined forces with Toronto metal warriors Michel Scotta (guitars), Lionel Tissot (bass), and Brent Niemi (drums) to form the progressive metal band THD (Canada).
The band recorded and released one independent record and produced this video for the song “Should I Die” in 1996.
Mif released 2 records internationally with Slash Puppet, the self-titled ‘Slash Puppet’ in 1993 on Fringe Records and more recently a 2007 re-issue of their 1988/89 independent release (“The Demo”) entitled ‘No Strings Attached’ through Sun City Records that garnered rave reviews worldwide making it to #7 on Sleaze Roxx’s Top 10 Best Albums of 2007.
A well rounded and truly versatile entertainer, Mif is also an accomplished actor (1995-present) who has appeared both nationally and internationally in numerous film and television productions. Cast alongside some of the biggest names in show business, his film credits include such films as Just Business, Foolproof, Eye See You, Detention, Direct Action, Have Mercy, Robocop (Prime Directives), Dirty Works, The Stupids, Partners In Action and Gossip.
On television, Mif is currently starring in the recurring role of the evil Dr. Necros on the new hit Disney T.V. show ‘Aaron Stone’. Touted as the “…Hannah Montana for boys…” by industry insiders, the action adventure series debuted to record ratings on Friday the 13th of February, 2009 as the flagship show for the newly branded Disney XD channel replacing Toon Disney. On the strength of it’s ratings the live-action adventure series was recently picked up for a second season which will begin shooting in Toronto this June 2009 .
