Sleaze Roxx’s most popular website posts per category in 2018

It always surprises me on how some Sleaze Roxx website news articles, reviews and/or interviews get lots of views while others barely register anything. The following are Sleaze Roxx‘s most popular website posts per category in 2018.

Most popular Sleaze Roxx overall website post / News Article:

Sammy Hagar recalls how Van Halen told him that he could do Cabo Wabo or be in the band posted on Dec. 24, 2018 — Van Halen have seemingly always been a popular band on Sleaze Roxx so it’s no real surprise that a Van Halen article would have the amount of views this year. What’s surprising is that it’s in regard to a well documented rift that occurred more than 20 years ago. The fall out between Van Halen and Sammy Hagar the first time around is still apparently a very intriguing news topic. Another notable surprise is that the article was posted on Christmas Eve but it seems that many people opted for a little reading on that day. As it turns out, the Sammy Hagar article is currently the second most viewed article of any kind on the Sleaze Roxx website since I started keeping track of these statistics in mid-February 2016.

Most popular Sleaze Roxx CD/DVD Review:

Ace Frehley‘s Spaceman by Ruben Mosqueda posted on October 16, 2018 — KISS continue to be another popular band on Sleaze Roxx and it appears that many people wanted to find out more details about former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley‘s latest solo album in advance of the release date, which was three days after, the review was posted. Frehley will soon be turning 68 years old and he seems to have his eye on participating in KISSEnd of the Road World Tour, which is supposed to last about three years, so Spaceman could well be the final studio album that we get from the Space Ace.

Most popular Sleaze Roxx Concert Review:

M3 Rock Festival (Day One) Concert Review by yours truly (Olivier) posted on May 16, 2018 — It had been three years since I last attended the M3 Rock Festival and it was fun to return to arguably the premiere “hair metal” festival in the world. Day One was interesting since Kix usually close the evening but this time around Cinderella frontman Tom Keifer took that coveted spot. I think that turned out to be a mistake because it’s awfully tough following up Kix on any day and nearly impossible when you’re doing so on Kix‘s Maryland State home turf. Suffice to say that Kix delivered the best set of the night by far on Day One. Other bands that played on Day One were Y&T, Faster Pussycat, Nelson, Pretty Boy Floyd and Tesla guitarist Frank Hannon (the latter only for the VIP ticket holders).

Most popular Sleaze Roxx Interview:

Interview with Temple Of One and ex-Inglorious bass player Colin Parkinson by Tyson Briden and posted on December 7, 2018 — This was the surprise interview of the year for me. The name Colin Parkinson is not exactly a household name compared to some of the other artists that were interviewed by Sleaze Roxx during the year such as Steve Riley (L.A. Guns, ex-W.A.S.P.), Michael Sweet (Stryper), Corey Glover (Living Colour), Ted Poley (Danger Danger) and Geoff Tate (ex-Queensrÿche). Nevertheless, it’s the former Inglorious bassist who generated the most interest with his interview among Sleaze Roxx readers. The interview with Parkinson was seemingly his first since his surprise announced departure from Inglorious along with bandmates / guitarists Andreas Eriksson and Drew Lowe in late October 2018. Inglorious frontman Nathan James likely helped with the interest in Parkinson‘s interview since a YouTube video of James praising his own singing while ripping some of his former bandmates surfaced the day after Sleaze Roxx‘s interview with Parkinson was posted.
