Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini may get record started for Ratt this year

Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy was recently interviewed by That Drummer Guy on January 6, 2017.

Pearcy mentioned the possibility of a new Ratt record when he stated (as transcribed by Sleaze Roxx): “Warren and I are already trying to, you know, demoing up some Ratt music for you know, what’s going on this year. So who knows? Maybe we’ll try to get a record started for Ratt in the year. It’s been like what six years now, by now or something, seven years since Infestation? I guess. I don’t know how long it’s been. It took ten years to do that you know [laughs]. But you know, that’s a whole other animal in itself you know? With my solo stuff, I have a tendency to go to another place you know that I’m not expected to with [a] Ratt audience but we’ll see what happens. What we’re dealing with now is kind of interesting….”

In terms of shows to promote his new solo album Smash, Pearcy stated: “We have a Ratt date coming up here on the 11th of next month followed by Smash shows and then I got a bunch of — a good dozen shows. stephen-pearcy.com… We keep adding more dates… Ratt is headlining M3 this year so its uuuh what I’m calling a Smash Ratt N’ Roll year, you know?”

Pearcy‘s fourth solo album Smash will be released via Frontiers Music Srl on January 27, 2017.
