Stephen Pearcy feels it’s been nothing but mutiny in Ratt without Robbin Crosby
Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy has announced some additional solo dates for his 1980’s Sunset Strip Experience Tour. The singer also addressed one more time some of the issues that have stopped his remaining classic line-up members — Warren DeMartini on guitar, Juan Croucier on bass and Bobby Blotzer on drums — from reuniting with him as Ratt. Pearcy has maintained that guitarist Robbin Crosby who passed away on June 6, 2002 at the age of 42 was the “heart of the group.”
The following message was posted on Pearcy‘s Facebook page on April 4, 2023:
Top Fuel Ent Announcement & Summer Tours 2023-2024.
The RATT founder lead singer STEPHEN PEARCY has had to answer questions daily as to why the band hasn’t put together a reunion of the remaining original members. He has been as forthright on the topic as one can be……he has extended an olive branch for nearly 5 years now but if people want to sit it out, retire then. Bad business, don’t need income, lazy? There’s simply nothing one can do but respect that choice and move on.
Not everyone has the energy & tenacity that Mr. Pearcy has had for years and years.
He loves playing for the Best Ratt N’ Roll fans in the world– and he still loves bringing the party to your town!!
While he can, after all, RATT is his creation, evolving from his band, Mickey RATT. He and Robbin Crosby started it and Stephen will carry the torch with Robbin by his side, in spirit, till the end. In essence RATT is Stephen Pearcy & Stephen Pearcy IS RATT. He recently addressed this exact question online and here is his full response…..It comes from the heart. He loves seeing the fans, he calls friends rockin’ to the songs that are truly the soundtrack to so many of our Best Years! The 1980’s Sunset Strip Experience.
SP: “First, my sentiments are the same and my feelings about my band RATT to this day. Without Robbin (and to this day) there’s been nothing but mutiny with him not available. If our fans really knew the problem person(s), and they will eventually where the real problems lie you wouldn’t be surprised. And it’s not with Blotzer, lol btw. I don’t want Ratt fan’s disrespected or wondering who’s that guy on guitar, who’s that guy on bass, god forbid another singer. Or not knowing any of the OG members 83-91 respectfully or disrespectfully in 2023. I’d like to keep some dignity and integrity for the band I started with Robbin, we did achieve more then imagined and appreciate. It really started with Mickey Ratt 1981. But when my guys don’t give a shit about anything to this day but the power trip, ego and controlling factor, looking and acting a fool (fkn retire?) they seem to have forgotten who created and steered the Ratt machine. All equals at one time after the EP. The proof is in the song credits, and these guys undeserving of my publishing for to long. And to make things as difficult as possible to be in a band with. Thank god that’s over with.

I couldn’t let the charades continue after being fortunate enough to still be in the game 2023. I’m out there representing my band RATT, the band I created and the songs I wrote or co wrote. Are the other guys out hitting the pavement? Making records? Go figure, they can’t. Someone interview them please.
The only way your going to Ratt n’ Roll these days is at my solo shows, or wait until I’m done here and see the tribute bands deal it out. And it’s coming people, there’s more tribute bands then you can count these days. Hence my #1980’s #Sunsetstripexperience 2023-2024 tours were presenting. I’m far from finished doing what I started, writing music and playing it, stay tuned! Without further ado, come out and party, my dates are posted. There is a time limit and it’s been (40) years for Ratt this year, I’m celebrating with a New RATT Boxset June 2023 frim BMG.
How long do I want to hit the streets? You’ll know when I’m done. Most of yr favorite 80’s groups who are still lucky enough to take advantage of the 1980’s “Sunset Strip Experience” resurgence please do, and go support these bands. I can’t represent my band RATT any longer with two OG members.
A joke, to me it’s just not to cool or worth it anymore riding on my coattails. Especially if you’re not even recognizable, pretending their some brilliant artist who does nothing for nothing. Why haven’t ANY of my guys gone out and proved themselves? They can’t. Put out a record? Speak. Anyway, we had a great run, and some bands aren’t supposed to last forever, maybe only on albums. How long do I want to do this? You’ll know, am I clear yet? See ya out there!”
