Stephen Pearcy recalls Robbin Crosby giving up his lead guitarist role in Ratt to Warren DeMartini

Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy continues to pay tribute to his deceased former bandmate and guitarist Robbin Crosby.

The following message was posted on Ratt‘s Facebook page earlier today:

“All hail! RATT, The two best guitarist to ever have coming through tons of Marshall stacks at you. Warren DeMartini and Robbin “King” Crosby. 83-91’

Robbin was very genuine in giving up his main role as lead guitarist to Warren right from the start.

No ego, it was what’s good for our band. That only gave Warren space to progress even faster as lead guitarists for the band, he earned it. And playing all the shows, hundreds and hundreds didn’t hurt.”

Crosby played on arguably Ratt‘s most well known albums including the Ratt EP (1983), Out of The Cellar (1984), Invasion of Your Privacy (1985), Dancing Undercover (1986), Reach For The Sky (1988) and Detonator (1990). The guitarist died of a heroin overdose / AIDS complication on June 6, 2002.

DeMartini has played on all of Ratt‘s releases including Ratt (1999) and Infestation (2010).
