Stephen Pearcy to work on new book to set record straight on who was in Ratt & who was really involved

Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy was recently interviewed by Jimmy Kay for Canada’s The Metal Voice after the recent announcement that the singer will be inducted into the 2020 Metal Hall Fame, which will take place at the Marriott Delta Garden Grove in Anaheim, California, USA on January 15, 2020.

Pearcy previously released his autobiography titled Sex, Drugs, Ratt & Roll: My Life In Rock back in 2013. When asked whether he will be writing another book, Pearcy advised (with slight edits):

“Absolutely, I’d like to get working on it next year because it’ll be a lot different than the first one. On this book, I’ll go over the musical tree of who was there when I first started. I would also like to get more inside the music, who was really involved and who wasn’t. There’s people names that come up and I don’t have a clue who they are and I don’t think they do but they weren’t in the band Ratt. I want to set the record straight. Also meeting Robbin Crosby for the first time and how much of a part of the music of Ratt he was at the time, and how Robbin and I created this whole monster.”

In terms of getting inducted into the 2020 Metal Hall of Fame, Pearcy indicated: “I think it’s great because I would take these kind of awards over MTV or VH1‘s and other big awards because they’re so political and more or less grab the token band. I mean look, there’s so many bands that need to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that have to do with heavy metal / hard rock. If I had my way you know, it’ll be a whole different award show on how you reward people. The LA scene had a lot to do with the music industry and those bands sold millions upon millions and maybe even a couple hundred million records, and none of those bands get noticed for that. So I think the Hall of Heavy Metal History and being inducted is fantastic and much appreciated”
