Steven Tyler Gets Engaged To Long Time Girlfriend
December 29, 2011
Steven Tyler proposed to girlfriend Erin Brady during a holiday vacation in Hawaii, giving her a mighty fine Christmas present: a sparkler by jeweler Loree Rodkin.
A spokesperson for Rodkin says the bauble is totally unique. “It’s one of a kind, like all of her pieces,” the rep tells PEOPLE. “Steven has been a client of Loree’s for many years, and often wears rings by her, as well as other jewelry.”
According to Rodkin, the proposal was a surprise. “He was working, so I picked stones, built settings, showed him choices and sent him pictures on his phone,” she tells PEOPLE. “He asked for guidance but the choice was his. Having made jewelry for both Erin and Steven made it an effortless process, as I know their taste.”
Brady’s ring is a 5-carat, brilliant-cut diamond, which sits on a micro pave diamond-and-platinum band. The bride-to-be flashed the jewel while walking through the airport with her beau earlier this week.
Tyler has been dating Brady for five years. His last marriage, to clothing designer Teresa Barrick, ended in 2006. He was married to Cyrinda Foxe, an ex-Warhol model, from 1978 to 1987.
In related news, OWN has announced that Oprah Winfrey’s primetime series Oprah’s Next Chapter will launch with a two-hour premiere on Sunday, January 1 from 9-11 p.m. with Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler at his New Hampshire home. In the two-hour premiere, Winfrey and Tyler cover everything from his years of drug addiction, his complicated relationships with his wives and American Idol.
Oprah’s Next Chapter will move to its regular time slot beginning the following week at 9 p.m.
“After 25 years I got myself out of the studio chairs. I moved into the next chapter, and I am having more fun than ever — moving around the country and the whole world talking to people I’m really interested in getting to know and I think viewers will be, too,” said Winfrey. “It is so energizing to be out and about in the world exploring new people, new places and new ideas.”
