Stryper guitarist Oz Fox recovering from brain surgery

Stryper guitarist Oz Fox underwent brain surgery yesterday and he is not out of the woods just yet. His wife Annie Lobert posted the following message on her Facebook page earlier today:

“All smiles. Yes he is SMILING. Despite the headache!

1. Today Oz was tested on his ability to swallow & chew food. Because of what happened in surgery, Dr. wanted to make sure he had no more problems with breathing.

2. Waiting for tests to come back for germ exposure during emergency breathing tube insertion. The “germ barrior” was unfortunately broke when team had to insert. This is potentially dangerous & brain could become infected. Prayers for negative test please!

3. Tests for tumor type. We are asking for prayers that Oz will be able to get immune therapy for the rest of his tumor to illiminate it completely!

4. Brain swelling. Prayers for this to be minimal or nothing at all.

Back in mid-February of this year, a GoFundMe campaign was started to raise funds for Fox to assist him with his mounting medical bills as well as the time that he would need to recover once he underwent brain surgery. The public goal for the GoFundMe campaign was to raise $50,000 US and as of the date and time of publication for this article, $63,109 US had been raised including a $5,000 donation from Chris Jericho.
