Sven Gali to continue ‘2018 Unfinished Business Tour’ with two more concerts
Canadian rockers Sven Gali are continuing their comeback with their 2018 Unfinished Business Tour, which will see the band play two more concerts in the province of Ontario in Canada. The first gig is dubbed the Rock And Roll Heaven Reunion, which will be held at The Rockpile in Toronto, Ontario on November 30th and the second show is at Chips n’ Charlie’s in Niagara Falls, Ontario on December 1st.
Asher Media‘s press release states in part (with slight edits):
“Canadian 90’s rockers Sven Gali reformed in 2018 with a monster new single called “Kill The Lies” recorded with legendary producer David Bendeth (Paramore, Breaking Benjamin, Bring Me The Horizon) to celebrate the twenty-five anniversary of their self-titled debut album that went gold (50,000 units) in Canada. Since the single’s release, Sven Gali have been touring across Ontario performing for their diehard fans as part of their “Unfinished Business Tour”. Before the year ends, the band has added two more shows on November 30th in Toronto and December 1st in Niagara Falls.

Formed in 1987 in Hamilton and Niagara Falls, Ontario, Sven Gali brought the 80’s and 90’s hard rock/metal wave home to Canada. They delivered their high-energy live show from St. Johns to Victoria and across the USA along with Europe for the next 9 years touring with bands such as April Wine, Foreigner, Candlebox, Pearl Jam and Def Leppard.
Twenty-five years after the release self-titled debut album, their new single “Kill The Lies” is no throwback to the 90’s, but a heavy, modern rock song that doesn’t look back. A part of the proceeds from the sale of the single will also go to support cancer research in the name of founding guitar player Dee Cernile whom passed away from cancer in 2012.”
Sleaze Roxx attended the first tour stop of Sven Gali‘s 2018 Unfinished Business Tour at Norma Jeans in London, Ontario, Canada back in July 2018 and stated in its concert review:
“Knowing what got them to the table so to speak, Sven Gali played a very healthy and generous amount of songs from their self-titled debut album. How many? How about nine out of the twelve tracks from that album, which was fantastic! Not being familiar with how the Sven Gali band members look aside from some early videos that I had seen, I was curious to see each band member as they made their way up the stage. Original Sven Gali band members — singer Dave Wanless, guitarist Andy Frank and bassist Shawn Maher — along with new drummer Dan Varga were all sporting short hair while new guitarist Sean Williamson was the only one really sporting a “rock star” look with his long hair. Despite the smaller crowd than I suspect that Sven Gali anticipated, they put on a great and enthusiastic set, and it genuinely felt like they were having fun up onstage. Right from the beginning, I was impressed with how Wanless‘ voice had stood the test of the time! He sounded great and I am sure that everyone can appreciate how a singer’s voice is so important to a group’s credibility long-term.”
Sleaze Roxx concluded in its review: “The crowd that was there seemed very appreciative of Sven Gali‘s performance and it almost felt like the band was like a well kept secret. I expect that more people will turn out for the group’s homecoming gig at This Ain’t Hollywood in Hamilton, Ontario tonight and consider myself very lucky to have a band of this ilk so close to home.”
