“The End” Is Just The Beginning – Jeffrey Winslow debuts bittersweet ballad on iTunes, Amazon
Jeffrey Winslow, lead vocalist for therock group Syrym, released his first official solo effort, the bittersweetbreakup ballad, “The End.” Simple and direct, thisacoustic-guitar-and-vocal song describes the feeling of going through thedemise of a serious relationship. The single is available now for download on iTunes, Amazon,Rhapsody, Napster, and other online stores.
“‘The End’ is about that one love you’ll neverquite be able to let go, and the uncomfortable, off-balance feelings you havewhen the relationship suddenly, inexplicably falls apart,” explains Winslow. “Iwanted the lyrics to express that awkwardness, confusion, and sadness, alongwith just a little bit of hope.”
As the vocalist for Syrym, Winslow has soldalbums worldwide and appeared in magazines and on radio with songs like”Ugly On The Inside,” “Foul Mouth Blues,” and “WhatI’m Trying To Say.” He got his start in the San Francisco Bay Area’s rockmusic scene, performing with bands such as Killer Instinct and Scattergun, butreally came into his own as a multi-dimensional vocalist in Santa Barbara,fronting funk-rock quintet Psycho Graffiti, as well as two gospel choirs. Sincereturning to the Bay Area, Winslow has repeatedly been called upon to providevocals for studio sessions, has written and performed music for television andradio commercials and, prior to his work with Syrym, held down lead vocalduties for East Bay rockers Vertigo and 3rd & King.
Some of Winslow’s vocal and musical influencesinclude Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Jackie Wilson, Billy Joel, andElton John. He is also a big fan of acoustic music, and is currently listeningto the likes of John Mayer, Jason Mraz, and Gavin DeGraw, among others.
