Tango Down Vocalist Alex Barbieri Leaves Band

March 16, 2010

Tango Down Vocalist Alex Barbieri Leaves BandTango Down vocalist Alex Barbieri has informed Sleaze Roxx that he and the band have parted ways. Despire the loss Tango Down, who released their latest album ‘Damage Control’ in 2009 through Kivel Records, plan to soldier on with a new singer.

Alex wrote the following press release, “It’s been an amazing couple of years! It’s been an honor to have been the front man in Tango Down. I helped to make one KICK-ASS album (if I do say so myself), played lots of rockin’ shows, had incredible experiences, made tons of new friends, and got to meet and hang with many of you, the coolest rock fans I’ve ever met.

And as the world is ever-changing…so must we grow and evolve with it. It’s with mixed emotions that I let you know that TD and I have decided to split. I wish the guys much luck and success on their new path!

As for me, I’m exploring my options, always writing, and looking forward to spending more time with loved ones. But for those of you who know me, you know the silence never lasts long. I’ll be looking forward to announcing my next venture in the not-too-distant future.

As for you, all of you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping to make my time with TD so memorable and such a success. Your support has helped me see one of my lifelong dreams come true. And as I reach even higher now, I urge you all to do the same.

So, in the infamous words of one of my idols, David Coverdale, ‘Here I Go Again on My Own.’

Peace and Keep Rockin’, if you want to stay in touch with me, please friend me at www.myspace.com/emailalex or on my Facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1136132486.”

The remaining members of Tango Down issued the following statement at www.myspace.com/tangodown, “As in life, all roads eventually lead to a cross road for some. Today we reach such a crossroad. Tango Down Vocalist, Alex Barbieri and the band have decided to part ways. It has been a great year and a helluva ride! A kick ass cd, tons of shows all over creation, parties, friends and good times. We did it as a team and we did it like a family. We wish Alex the absolute best, it was a pleasure and a experience working, partying and hangin with him over the last past year. We wouldn’t have had it any other way. We are sure that the Masses will be hearing from Alex again in the future . It is something we will also look forward to hearing and seeing. So we ask that EVERYONE of you show him love when the time is right when he reemerges on the scene.

As for where this leaves us, we will solider on and are not canceling any shows or plans. We will be announcing our new vocalist within the next week or so. He has pretty big shoes to fill. However we are confident he is up to the challenge!! We will be playing at South Dakota Rock Fest in July, and with Y+T in august. So don’t be a stranger and come out, rock with us and do some Damage!!”
