Tesla’s Studio Burns In Three-Alarm Blaze
Tesla’s Studio Burns In Three-Alarm Blaze
September 30, 2010
Ian S. Port of SFWeekly.com reports: Flames tore through a Sacramento apartment building last night, damaging a studio where the metal band Tesla recorded.
Soundproofing in the recording studio, which was behind the apartment building, made it harder for crews to reach the attic, where the the three-alarm blaze had spread, according to the Sacramento Bee. But firefighters put covers over the instruments and memorabilia in the studio to protect them from water damage.
Tesla peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 with 1989’s power ballad “Love Song,” broke up in 1995, reunited in 2000, and toured the U.S. most recently last year. This band is every bit as ’80s hard rock as you remember (if you remember).
No one was injured last night, but sadly, the fire killed two cats. Its cause is unknown.
