The Cheats Premiere “Better Than The Rest” Video
October 29, 2013
After almost a year in the making, The Cheats finally release their new video for “Better Than The Rest”.
Plagued with lost footage, reshoots and just plain bad luck, The Cheats have finally been able to complete their long awaited video for “Better Than The Rest,” the first single off their latest album, ‘Pussyfootin’, which is currently in stores.
“This is the band’s first scripted video,” says vocalist Todd Porter (aka Todd Cheat), “and we wanted it to be amazing.”
The band has had several live and fan shot videos posted to YouTube over the years. The good ones such as “So Long Sucker”, “Broken Creeper” and “Hammersmith Palais” were shot and edited by Porter’s longtime friend Larry Dawgiello in between his rigorous tour managing schedule with Rusted Root.
“We ended up getting the remaining footage off the original production company and giving it to Larry to complete,” says Porter. “The production company actually went out of business and the owner was trying to finish it, but with his new work schedule it was just taking too long.”
Screaming Crow Record executive Eric Corbin sat down with Dawgiello and finished editing the video with the footage they had within a couple days.
The Cheats have just finished recording their half of the split LP with Electric Frankenstein that will be coming out on Screaming Crow Records in early 2014. It will feature three new songs and one cover tune from each band and will be released on 12″ vinyl and digital only. Limited edition splatter vinyl will be available via Screaming Crow’s online store and the bands directly.
