The Dirty Denims provide year recap and to release ‘jukebox’ style single in early 2021
Dutch rockers The Dirty Denims consisting of lead vocalist / guitarist Mirjam Sieben, lead guitarist Jeroen Teunis, bassist Marc Eijkhout and drummer Suzanne Driessen have provided a recap for all of their accomplishments during 2020 and also announced that they will be releasing a “jukebox” styled single in early 2021.
The following message was posted on The Dirty Denims‘ Facebook page earlier today (with slight edits):
HAVE A HAPPY HARDROCK NEW YEAR!
It wasn’t all bad in 2020, we had quite a great year actually:
GREAT SUPPORT FROM ROCKERS ALL OVER THE WORLD
We LOVE the rocker-friends that follow us (so: YOU, yes feel addressed) and give us support in kind words, listening to the music, coming to gigs and buying our music and merch. Some of you attended ALL our 2020 gigs!
We started a The Dirty Denims membership and we have 20 XL an 2 M members at this moment! We love this because we can make even a deeper connection with these likeminded rockers. They got access to a lot of exclusive videos, got to see and hear new things first, attended the special Zoom concert and we gave away a free calendar. Thank you all so much!
We are very happy with our band and the people that are in it
We’ve released our album Ready Steady Go! This year we went to the studio for the last five songs. We sold more of this new album in the few months before (pre-order) and few months after release then we ever did with new albums and it got great reviews, for example in Rock Hard magazine and Classic Rock Magazine, and by the amazing Sleaze Roxx.
Against all odds, we did some great ‘real’ gigs. We had an amazing gig at Nuts 4 Rock e.V. Gladebeck in February, with such a nice crowd! We didn’t know it was the last one before the first lockdown but it was a good one, couldn’t even be better and we think it was one of our favorites. We also played with Sonic Beat Explosion in Don’t Panic Essen in January. Did an awesome ‘oh my gosh, it feels like a real mini festival’-gig at Schlachthof Krefeld / Kulturrampe Krefeld. Played at Markant Uden – Podium voor theater & evenementen and were lucky because it was a few days before extra measures ánd played at POPEI Eindhoven, also lucky because it was right before the second lockdown.
One of the most amazing live stream PLUS a few VIP visitors was at Cafe De Cactus Muziekcafe, Kleinste Podium van Twente. It was so great to play for people again after the 1st lockdown and the quality of the live stream unbelievable. We played during The Isolation Sessions in the Effenaar 2 times: first with a 360 degree camera and later with multi camera. We played our brand new songs so we had live footage of them! We became nr 4 in The Sessions Countdown of 170 act. And participating in New Wave of Classic Rock Webfest 4 was amazing, we got to know a lot of new rockers from the UK. People4Music festival was amazing, because it combined great quality of sound and vision AND the possibility for us to see the live comments on a big screen.
We did a lot of fun live streams from the rehearsal room and 1 time even from Marc’s living room, including our public online release party and 2 closed Zoom meetings so we could see the crowd too.
OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEOS
We released the music video for “Band Not A Brand”, with a lot of great fan-footage in it and our own recordings at the mall. And for “Roll The Dice” with a lot of great live footage, thanks to the live streams we did this year.
STUDIO FOR NEW SINGLE, COMING UP IN 2021
We went to the studio in October to record two songs: one cover and one new original. We will release it on Screaming Crow Records on a ‘jukebox’ single somewhere in the first months of 2021. Can’t wait to let you hear it!
GIG ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR 2021
We are looking forward to 2021. There are some amazing gigs planned and let’s keep fingers crossed they will happen. For example, we will play with Girlschool, Thundermother and Burning Witches on No Playback Festival 2021 [on] April 30th and with the Burning Witches and WildHeart at ResonanzWerk Oberhausen. Stay tuned on our social media and mailinglist for updates about live gigs. Take care!
