The Four Horsemen Set To Release ‘Death Before Suckass’ Live Album

September 16, 2012

The legendary Four Horsemen are about to release their first live album, ‘Death Before Suckass: The Four Horsemen Live At Saratoga Winners’. The live recording is currently available for pre-order at www.thefourhorsemen.com and will begin shipping on October 8th.

Recorded during the fall of 1991, ‘Death Before Suckass: The Four Horsemen Live At Saratoga Winners’ is hands down the purest rendition of the key tracks from ‘Nobody Said It Was Easy’ you will ever get to hear (unless of course you were there!) Lost for over twenty years, the music on this CD is an undiluted dose of exactly what The Four Horsemen did best — three-chord rock’n’roll with attitude to spare. In the tradition of some of the highlights from their 2005 DVD collection ‘Left For Dead’, the entire show is presented exactly as it was played. No overdubs. No bullshit.

“I was really excited when the tape showed up as we didn’t think any recordings from this period of the band had survived,” says guitarist Haggis. “When we first sat down and listened to the beginning of 75 Again I thought ‘Shit, the whole thing is fucked,’ then suddenly the sound comes into focus and, as Frank C. Starr liked to say, ‘Game over.’ Later on in the show we had to fade the last few moments of Can’t Get Next To You and the beginning of Wanted Man because whoever was recording us flipped the tape, but I was just so psyched that a recording of us playing the songs at the top of our game even existed I didn’t care. We also had the whole thing re-mastered by Brett Kull who works on all our re-issues. To my mind, this is the definitive Four Horsemen recording. Period.”

‘Death Before Suckass: The Four Horsemen Live At Saratoga Winners’ features Dave Lizmi and Haggis )of The Cult and Zodiac Mindwarp) on guitar, Ben Pape on bass, and deceased members Frank C. Starr on vocals and Ken “Dimwit” Montgomery on drums.

The band’s official website is also selling 21st Anniversary Editions of the ‘Welfare Boogie’ EP, ‘Nobody Said It Was Easy’ and the long-lost ‘Daylight Again’.
