The New Wave of Hair Metal warns bands “You change your sound, you change your coverage too”

The New Wave of Hair Metal, which is mostly active on Facebook, has warned the bands that it covers that “You change your sound, you change your coverage too.”

The following message was posted on The New Wave of Hair Metal‘s Facebook page earlier today (with slight edits):

“You might have noticed (maybe you have, or maybe you haven’t) that I’ve been sneaking in newer video’s from classic band’s. There was always a rule on this page that didn’t allow it. Well, things have changed. I’ll explain what happened.

Many changes have happened over the last four years of doing this page. Some bands that used to be major players in this genre have since moved on to other styles of rock. It’s ok, it happens. However I don’t cover the styles that they evolved into. So I had to cut them from this page. To take their place, I have added classic band’s with new videos. This will be a regular thing.

I understand that some people might not be happy about this. I expect to lose a few followers, but I’m sure that more people will start to come here when they see that this page plays classic band’s too. It’s now new videos from all hair/sleaze/glam bands. This will NOT effect rotation for the band’s that are covered regularly. These classic bands with new videos are simply taking the place of band’s that used to be covered here. You will still see Reckless Love, Crazy Lixx, Crashdïet, BlackRain, H.E.A.T, Kissin’ Dynamite, Confess, Shiraz Lane, Bloody Heels, Lipz, Snakebite, Speed Stroke, etc, the same amount that you always have seen them. You’ll now be able to see them alongside classic band’s. You will also see bands from Frontiers that are a mash up of classic musicians doing an album like Black Swan or Tokyo Motor Fist.

To be very clear, I’m not a thrash metal page. I don’t cover alternative rock. Nu-metal is not a style of music that you will see here. Grunge music is my enemy, lol. This page is for melodic hard rock/ hair metal bands, glam rock/metal, and sleaze metal. Some of you walked away a long time ago, but you still expect the hair/sleaze/glam pages to cover you. It doesn’t work that way. You change your sound, you change your coverage too. So please don’t be surprised or upset if I reject a video. It doesn’t mean I think it sucks. It just means I don’t think it belongs on this page. If a band decides to play in this genre again, then they will be welcomed back.

I’m looking forward to seeing how this plays out. If I’m wrong, then I’ll admit I was and I’ll change it back to how it was. But I think most people are going to be happy to see a Lipz video, then a Whitesnake video. Please have patience with me as I get these new video’s posted. I’m the only admin on this page and creating posts take time.

Feel free to scream and yell at me in the comments. As I said, I expect to lose a few followers over this decision. I assure you that you are not losing anything. You are only gaining. You’ll never even notice those bands are gone. Many of them are bands that you probably never heard of.
