The Pleasures Announce UK Tour, New Album On The Way
June 27, 2011
Hailing from Hamburg, Germany The Pleasures are single-handedly reinventing, redefining and revolutionising everything that you used to understand as ‘glam rock’.
Sure, they take a massive pinch of Bowie, T-Rex and The Sweet, but they also have a disgusting love of all things Toilet Boys, David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper — this is glam rock 21st century style and it sounds like nothing like you may have ever heard before.
The Pleasures are a passionate, hard-working band, producing and engineering their own recorded material. Their first release came in June 2005; a five track EP entitled ‘Cuming Out’. Succeeded a year later by the 16 track debut album ‘Greatest Hits’, which sold out of its first few thousand copies within just six months. A single release in April 2007, ‘Some Like It Rock’, preceded their crititcally acclaimed double album, ‘Oh Yeah’. The band had a distribution deal with Dockyard 2 for a repackaged version of ‘Oh Yeah’ called ‘Oh Yeah Revolution’ in 2009. This took the band to the online market (Spotify/iTunes and other major retailers) featuring new versions from their back catalogue and a couple of new songs.
Their new album is scheduled for release in late 2011 and their UK tour will showcase the stunning new material.
With each performance this band gets stronger, their following gets bigger, and the incandescent haze of glitter, make-up and fake blood that travels with them, infiltrates the hearts of all those in its path.
