Timothy Gaines states that he had better paying jobs working retail than when doing Stryper gig

Former Stryper bassist Timothy Gaines apparently does not miss being in the band and has made more money working retail jobs than when part of the band.

The following message was posted on Gaines‘ Facebook page earlier today;

“A little rant.. First of all Happy New Year!!! I Hope and pray your new year is blessed and prosperous! I mean this sincerely. Everyone deserves a happy new year. EVERYONE!!

But…. Now, some things that need to be said – Today I posted an old photo of myself when I was 21 years old in Stryper, and someone took that photo and shared it on their wall and said something like “Looks like he is starting to miss his old gig.”

If I post a photo of myself when I was in Stryper, it doesn’t mean I miss my old gig. It just means I am sharing a bit of my past… of which I spent more than HALF OF MY LIFE in that band. Don’t read anything more into it. Believe me, I DO NOT MISS MY OLD GIG. I’ve had BETTER PAYING jobs working retail. They can crop me out of the photos but they CAN’T erase my history. I tend to think most of the general public are not stupid enough to fall for that. And it should really tell you more of their (band) character than mine. This is 2018, a new year. New beginnings, and bigger things are ahead. I’ve been held back for too long and I am really excited to move on to a new and less toxic & controlling environment for myself, my family, and my future. My future is now back in MY control and not under the leadership of any one individual or group of religious individuals.

I sincerely thank you for standing behind me over the last 18 months. I really do appreciate your love & support. So many of you were very encouraging toward Brandee and I over this last year. We love you for that. Some sent support during a time when we found ourselves homeless living in budget motels. A couple of individuals took it upon themselves to help us find a home in which to rent a room. Another helped out when our car was repossessed. Others prayed and helped us in the process of rebuilding our lives out of the ashes. Brandee and I thank you so much for that.

I understand that many will move on, and many already have.

I am not worried about keeping my numbers up here. I am here to be real and transparent. I’ve always said what was on my mind.. love or hate it.. I have nothing to hide, and I have nothing to lose by telling the truth. I am not a liar. But now I am a free agent. I choose what I wish to post, and what I wish to delete. I choose my battles, they don’t choose me, and I have several battles to complete this coming year. We’re so happy and so ready for 2018!! I’m ready to kick some ass!! Three new band projects coming at you. New solo album, and a book. So looking forward to this year and what it has in store. The last half of my life, I intend to enjoy and live to the fullest. I hope to see you there with me along this new journey. ~ TG
