Ever since in or around mid-September of this year, there have been indications from the Stryper camp and mainly from the group’s leader Michael Sweet that things are not well amid the group and that bassist Timothy Gaines has some personal issues that are affecting the group.

Sweet recently gave an interview to Nick at WSOU where he indicated that Stryper would continue and do another album although that would probably be without Gaines.

Gaines turned to Twitter today to post the following succinct message: “No, I am NOT leaving Stryper!”

A photo of Stryper‘s long-time bassist was posted on his Facebook page later today where Gaines appears to be giving a message of “fuck you” by displaying his middle finger. The recipients of the message are not clear.

Wikipedia has Gaines listed as having played in Stryper from 1983 to 1986, 1986 to 1988, 1990 to 1993, 1999 to 2001, 2003 to 2004, and 2010 to the present. Gaines is listed as Stryper‘s bassist on all of their studio albums except In God We Trust (1988) where he only joined the band for the subsequent tour, and Reborn (2005) and Murder By Pride (2009) where Tracy Ferrie is listed as the bassist.
