Twisted Sister's Dee Snider Recording Broadway ClassicsDee Snider of Twisted Sister has Broadway running in his blood. Along with an eleven-week run on the Great White Way in Rock of Ages, he has announced that he is making an album of Broadway standards says Vintagevinylnews.com.

Dee Does Broadway will be released in September on Razor and Tie. While there is no information on the song list, he did Tweet “Just finished recording two more vocals for my ‘Dee Does Broadway’ record. Six down, four more tracks to go. Back in studio tomorrow.”

In an interview with MTV News, Snider talked about the difference between performing in arenas and on Broadway. “The biggest difference between a concert situation and a theater situation is that you can’t curse out the audience. I’m used to addressing situations. If something is going on in the house that I don’t like at a concert, or if the audience is not energized or enthusiastic … or if they’re particularly energized and enthusiastic … I will stop a song just to comment on what’s going on. I quickly realized that was unacceptable on Broadway. I just have to stay in character and stay in the show.”

More information on the new album when it becomes available. Here’s hoping it will be more Jesus Christ Superstar and Tommy than South Pacific and The Sound of Music.
