Tyrant To Release ‘Save The Devil – Special Edition’ On June 1st
May 6, 2012
Australian ‘old school’ hard rock metal act Tyrant will release their new CD, ‘Save The Devil – Special Edition’, on Friday June 1.
The CD was engineered and recorded at Izaneer studios in Tasmania by Brett Collidge, was mixed and produced at the Green Room studios in Hobart by Michael Shelley (who has recently worked on projects for local acts Rogue Sharks, Sin & Tonics and is now working on Roadkill’s second CD due in July). A video clip for Tyrant’s “Lay Down The Law” (2012) has been uploaded to YouTube andr can be heard at the band’s MySpace page as a free download at www.myspace.com/tyrantaustralia.
Besides new CD cover artwork and layout, the new album boasts a far more meatier sound with a real ‘old school’ feel, showcasing a product that kicks all the way home!
Tyrant will be make a return appearance in Hobart, Friday May 18th at the Brisbane Hotel as support to US metal singer Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens on his first ‘solo’ tour of Australia.
Vocalist Neil Steel said, “Such an honour to open for Ripper — can’t wait, gonna be a killer night! We wanted to test the waters, after all Tyrant hadn’t played shows or released any product since ‘Live Bootleg’ in 2005! My car accident in late 2008 really threw a spanner in the works, not just for Tyrant but also for Roadkill — both bands didn’t do anything for 2 years! So we put out ‘Save The Devil’ last year as a ‘demo’ to see what people thought and even with it being downloadable illegally via the net… it SOLD OUT!”
