Van Halen have started work ontheir first album with original frontman David Lee Roth in 26 years.
News that the band were set to work with producer John Shanks, who has most recently worked with Bon Jovi and Take That, broke last year, and Shanks has suggested that he’s now gone into the studio with the metallers.
Shanks tweeted from his Twitter page, Twitter.com/johnshanks1: “Here we go kids… VH”. He also posted a picture of Eddie Van Halen’s guitar amp.
Last year the band confirmed that they would work on a new album, which would be their first with original frontman David Lee Roth since their ‘1984’ album was released in the same year as the title. Roth left in 1985 to be replaced by Sammy Hagar, but rejoined the band in 2006.
There is no word from the band on a scheduled release plan yet.
