Van Halen Launch ESPN.com Takeover With Six Streaming Songs

To celebrate the release of ‘A Different Kind Of Truth’ on February 7th, Van Halen has teamed up with ESPN.com for some very special promotions. As part of the takeover fans can now stream 6 new tracks off the album, enter a sports “Tattoo” contest conceived by David Lee Roth himself, and rank the best David Lee Roth Van Halen albums. Earlier this month Van Halen announced their return to the live stage with an extraordinary 2012 North American tour. The announcement was made during a once-in-a-lifetime performance at the intimate Cafe Wha? in New York City. Known around the world for some of the most iconic live performances in music history, the legendary rock band will begin their tour on February 18th. Kool & The Gang will join Van Halen as openers for select tour dates.

‘A Different Kind Of Truth’ is Van Halen’s first original studio album with singer David Lee Roth since the band’s classic multi-platinum album ‘1984’ and in a review Sleaze Roxx stated, “Regardless of how much bad blood has been spilled over the years, of how insane Roth and the Van Halen brothers can act, one thing is certain — when they get together magic happens.” The band recently released a video for lead single “Tattoo” which can be seen below.
