Metallica consisting of lead vocalist / rhythm guitarist James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, lead guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Rob Trujillo played the first show of their M72 World Tour in support of their new album 72 Seasons at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam, Netherlands on April 27, 2023.

Metallica‘s setlist consisted of one song from the album Kill ‘Em All (1983), three from Ride The Lightning (1984), three from Master of Puppets (1985), three from Metallica (1991), one from Load (1996), one from Reload (1997), one from Death Magnetic (2008) and three from 72 Seasons (2023). The group will be playing a second show at the Johan Cruijff ArenA on April 29, 2023. Metallica have advertised that it will be a “No Repeat Weekend” with different setlists and different opening acts for each night in Amsterdam.
