After the shock announcement that female lead vocalist Rachl “Raxx” Quinn was leaving Shokker, the remaining band members have regrouped recruiting a second guitarist George Sizos and a male singer David Kraus to continue the Shokker legacy.

Shokker released a self-titled debut EP in 2015 and the full-length album III in 2017 with Quinn handling the lead vocals.

The new Shokker line-up recently performed two shows last month, namely at The Original Sundance Saloon in Mundelein, Illinois, USA on September 22, 2018 and at the Top Fuel Saloon in Braidford, Illinois, USA on September 29, 2018.

Speaking exclusively to Sleaze Roxx, the Shokker band members were asked whether it was difficult to replace Quinn and decide to go with a male lead vocalist. Shokker replied: “Originally, Shokker never intended to be a female-fronted band. But being that there were no male singers around that could hit the notes we wanted to hit, it ended up being that way. Though Rachl was a decent singer, certain things in the band hadn’t been working out for awhile, and we’ve known David for a long time. And when things came to a head, and Rachl left the band, we went that way, being that David is everything we wanted in a singer. So it ended up working out for the better.”

In terms of adding a second guitarist to the line-up, Shokker advised: “Well that’s easy. We wanted to do a lot of harmonies and double lead stuff, along with counterpoint rhythm guitar stuff. But being a one guitar band, that was impossible. George and Casey practically grew up in a music store that their fathers worked at. George‘s father owns the store, and Casey‘s father does repair work there. They both had played together for years, so when George finally graduated college, he was in. And it sounds huge.

With respect to new material, Shokker advised: “We’ve got around ten new songs, in which the music is basically all finished. As soon as David and the rest of us get done writing lyrics, we will head into the studio and start recording. We’ll most likely put out an EP first, ASAP, for promotional purposes, so look out for that. We will be working brand new songs into the set as we finish them.”
