Wicked Smile to release debut single “We Fall” on January 19th

Australian hard rockers Wicked Smile will release their debut single ‘We Fall’ on January 19, 2020. Wicked Smile feature Danny Cecati (ex-Pegazus and Eyefear) on lead vocals and Stevie Janevski (The Radio Sun, ex-Black Majesty) on guitar. The single was produced by Paul Laine (The Defiants, ex-Danger Danger).

Speaking exclusively to Sleaze Roxx, Janevski explained what made him decide to form Wicked Smile in the first place as he stated: “I love writing songs. Wicked Smile is heavier in direction. The Radio Sun is more of a melodic rock band. I guess it’s another outlet for me. My friend Paul Laine has also co-written a few songs with me and is also playing bass guitar on the album as well as co-producing. It’s sounding great!”

With The Radio Sun playing melodic rock and Black Majesty seeming like heavy metal, Janevski was asked why he was pursuing a more sleazy musical direction with Wicked Direction in the vein of Skid Row and Spread Eagle to which he replied: “I think Black Majesty became more power metal over time. Yes, The Radio Sun is more melodic rock. I used to play guitar in a band called Cyclone Tracy b.i.t.d. which started out more heavy rock/street sounding… kinda influenced by bands like Skid Row, Spread Eagle, Sven Gali, Wildside, etc. Originally, that was my main focus in direction for Wicked Smile…. to go back to that kind of direction, as I felt it was a style of music I really enjoy writing and performing. With Danny on vocals, he brings more of a Dio, Rainbow, [Bruce] Dickinson influence, which is great!”

In terms of how he found Cecati to join Wicked Smile, Janevski indicated: “I’ve been friends with Danny for many, many years. He had joined me on stage many times with Black Majesty over the years. He is the cousin of Black Majesty vocalist John Cavaliere. When it was time to search for a singer, he showed interest right away. He’s a great fit and a fantastic singer, frontman and person.”
