Winger band members have talked about writing new album but Kip Winger busy with other projects

Winger frontman Kip Winger was recently interviewed by Canton Rep and spoke about his various projects.

In terms of how he became heavily involved with the world of classical music, Kip Winger advised: “I wrote a ballet for the San Francisco Ballet, and recorded an album with the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra. Nijinksi came second after those. I’ve known from the time I was 16 that I wanted to write classical music. I just didn’t know how to go about it, because I never had time to go to school. I finally was able to get it together studying, but it came at great cost and the end of my initial career. I studied for at least 10 years with some very reputable, serious composers, and I hear the music. That’s why I did it. I would never recommend it. It’s because I hear it, so it comes naturally.”

With respect to whether there will be a new Winger album in 2019, Kip Winger opined: “We’re talking about writing, but I’m working on a symphony and violin concerto for the Nashville Symphony, so I don’t know when I’ll get to it. I’m also writing a musical, but we’re gonna try to get it together.”
