Wolfgang Van Halen announces “moving forward on something” he’s “never been this excited about”

Van Halen‘s current bassist Wolfgang Van Halen has posted a few Tweets yesterday, which may add fuel to Van Halen‘s rumoured possible summer tour or gig in 2019.

Dec. 31, 2018, 9:31 pm (in part) — “I’ve been pretty quiet this year. I spent 2018 staying focused, working hard, and moving forward on something I’ve never been this excited about. I can’t wait to share it with y’all. Seeya in 2019”

Dec. 31, 2018, 2:15 pm — “If you you start playing Runnin With The Devil at 11:58:16, Dave will scream “GOD DAMMIT BABY YOU KNOW I AIN’T LYIN TO YA, I’M ONLY GONNA TELL YOU ONE TIIIIIIME AAAAHHHHHHHYUEAHHH!!!!” at midnight. Start your new year off right.”

Of note, back on June 13, 2018, Wolfgang Van Halen tweeted that the recording was officially complete for a project that he was working on where he is apparently handling all instruments and vocals.

In an interview with Vulture back in mid-December 2018, Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth had hinted that Van Halen would be playing a concert at Yankee Stadium during the summer of 2019 that might include some of rock’s other bigger acts such as the Foo Fighters and Metallica.

Later last month, radio mogul Eddie Trunk announced that he had heard from two sources that Van Halen would be touring in 2019 with the original line-up, which would mean the return of original bassist Michael Anthony in the line-up.

Those rumours seemed to be shot down when Anthony advised that he had not spoken to any of the Van Halen guys since they last toured in 2004 aside from some small talk once with drummer Alex Van Halen a couple of years ago.
